Teaser Trailers
A short trailer that is used to help advertise an upcoming movie is known as a Teaser Trailer.
Teaser Trailers are usually only about for a short period of time, between 30-60 seconds.
They usually contain little actual footage from the film itself. Sometimes, it is merely a shortened version of a theatrical trailer.
Teaser Trailers are commonly released long in advance of the film they are advertising.
The reasons for the name “teaser trailer” is because they are shown roughly 1 – 1 ½ years before the film is due to come out on cinema screens, so it is used to “tease” the audience.
