Whilst analysing the film trailers my partner and I have constructed some effective knowledge from these existing trailers, and would like to put ideas forward in our productive piece. From this we have decided to produce a trailer in the genre of horror.
We have found that in horror trailers, they use a lot of different shots and camera movements.
We had decided due to the initial storyline to use a house that contains some tension, or eerie atmosphere.
Our first initial location idea was a manor house in a quiet village; this house is made up of three floors. The house still contains an old styled interior, with stereotypical creaky stairs, and plenty of passageways leading in to different rooms and part of the house, the doors are very large and heavy with brass handle bars, there are also large window frames looking out on to fields and small gardens, this house is also vey dark, and dreary, creating a large amount of tension which would have been perfect for our trailer production but due to unexpected circumstances this location was not available to use.
We then had a second location idea in another small village with a some run down cottage, these were unfortunately also un available due to safety reasons and the owner had just recently sold the property.
The location we have chosen to use which is fortunately available is a large cottage, which contains long passageways, plenty of doorways and interesting room layouts. The cottage also has an eerie atmosphere to it and therefore would be perfect for the genre I am working in.
Location being used
We also have our second location were shots will also be captured, in a small woodland area, here a possible chase seen with occur, and other various shots.
